Let them know the person behind the coat!

Have Laboratorians fill out questions about themselves.

i.e. “What did you want to be when you grew up?” “If you could have any super power, what would it be?” “What is your greatest accomplishment?” “What is your biggest fear?”

Have the questionnaires hanging up with the individuals name and picture

Play “Genetic Link.”

Have Laboratorians bring in photos of their relatives and have guests or other Laboratorians see if they can tell who is related to whom

Getting to Know your Laboratory

  • Develop a FAQ for patients to better understand what happens during testing, or ways to stay healthy
  • Develop statistics about your laboratory; let everyone know how hard you work

i.e. “Our lab processes 40,000 blood tests a year, with 100% accuracy!”

For the Community

Who works in a lab and what Do they do?”

Write a letter to your local newspaper explaining “Who Laboratorians are, and what they do”

(To submit an article we suggest you contact the health editor)

Offer a Tour of your Laboratory

Make guests pull types of specimens out of a bowl and have a Laboratorian lead them through the lab as if they were that specimen
